Default Re: Hilux Kicks butt in the desert

And Toyota offers the 2009 in a 3.0L 171hp (317ft/lbs of torque) 4-cyl 4X4 Diesel w/ 5-spd AT that can tow 5,000lbs that ALSO gets 35-40mpg and 300,000 miles of engine life. It also has AI (artificial intelligence) incorporated into the ECU so it senses gradients, driver input, driver style, etc. WAY better than the traditional Toyota ECU. And you people who live in the colder areas will like the "Cold Area Package" which incorporates a dual battery setup, high-output alternator, and a secondary heater ducting system to the passenger cab. A LSD is standard. Very neat...

Now you see why Ford and GM have done everything they can to keep it from our shores.

I have heard of people buying them in Mex/Central America and driving them in...
