I have switched tires from front to back and that has not fixed the problem. I also replaced the right front wheel bearing thinking that could be the issue. The reason I thought it was the bearing was that while taking weight off the right side (turning right), the noise would go away.
Any ideas? It's been a great car but I'm puzzled as to what the groaning sound is. It's not a metal to metal contact sound.

The groaning noise is probably from your worned out tire(s). Especially low quality/cost of the tires used. I have this same problem with my 04 Camry when I tried to save a few dollars by going with lesser tires. I fixed it with the new and better tires. How many miles are on those tires? But more importantly, check for tires wear to make sure it wear evenly or the noise will appear again.
