Dealer messed up coolant, now what?
So, had my 2000 Tundra in for timing belt. Since they were in there and replacing some coolant anyways, I went ahead and had them do a flush of the coolant system. Pretty straight forward one would think. Get my rig home, pop the hood, and clear as day without even opening the coolant reservoir I could tell that Toyota Red coolant was NOT used, yellow was. I called the service manager and told him that I understand Toyota Red is supposed to be used unless some new manual was out there or the coolant changed. He came back on the line saying a mistake was made and they will re-flush and fill properly. Now, I know mistakes can happen, but I would have expected with with a Quickie Mart, not a dealership. Anyway, should I request anything special to be done other than flushing it really well and a little longer than normal. It would have had maybe 5 miles total put on it with the incorrect coolant. Appt is scheduled for this coming Tuesday. I am also thinking about asking for a refund of my money for the flush not because they didn't fix their own mistake, but for my time of having to take it in again, and pick it up, having to take a hour off of work. What are your thoughts?
