Mistakes happen everywhere... it is how people handle the situation afterward that tells us where their integrity lies.
They may not give you a refund but it seems fine for you to ask. If they are reluctant, then ask for some discounts on other services (if you want to continue with them) like a few free oil changes or something like that, and like Highway said "get it in writing". I have had pretty good results in the past, not always. You do have some leverage and if they want to keep you as a customer they should make sure you are completely satisfied.
Asking for a longer flush is totally within reason.
