My 2005 Sequoia had the same problem. Dealer recommended replacing the motor and the ECU, which would have cost me $1000 including labour and taxes.
Thanks to the instructions in this forum thread, I removed the bracket and spring and everything works like a peach. Took me half an hour and saved me $1000.
