Default Re: Disable TRAC on 2008 Touring

Here is the solution to temporarily disconnect DSC. This is useful when stuck in snow and you need wheelspin to extract yourself. I have used it on several occasions even though it is a bit convoluted the first time.

1- Check that ignition is off and the shift lever is at Park.
2- Start the engine.
3- Follow steps 4 to 8 within 30 seconds of engine start:
4- Engage the parking brake.
5- Depress and release the brake pedal twice.
6- Turn the parking brake switch on and off twice while depressing the brake pedal.
7- Depress and release the brake pedal twice while the parking switch is on.

Steps 6/7 need to be completed within 15 seconds
The VSC warning light and indicator should be turned on. If not, start over from step 1. Everything returns to normal when turning off the car.

You will need to try this a couple of times to get the hang of it. It has worked faithfully for me on my ski trips.
