never go back & forth.
or change after alot of miles.
i got this info from several different performence shop's.
how good is this info, i'm not to sure. but i only use reg. oil, but i change it every 2000 to 2500miles.
oil gets dirty from the dirt in the air passing through & into the engine.
so the cleaner the oil the less dirt in your oil.
so continue to use what ever they used before.
unless it's brand new. than use what you want, but do not change.

You can change to synthetic oil when ever you want, back and forth, mix it, doesn't matter. Synthetic does a much better job of protecting your engine and keeping deposits out. Only thing you have to look out for is if you already have an oil leak changing to syn could cause it to become worse as it cleans out all the dino deposits plugging the leak.
