i have no idea if my JBL stereo has auto volume with speed... the engine noise heard from inside the cab is the same, soothing, quiet sound at 30 as it is at 90.... OR, is it that the radio is turned up so loud i can't hear the motor??!!??

I constantly do this.... you can let the tailgate down without the alarm going off.... But close it, and the alarm wil go off...
I do this nearly daily, from just hanging out, sitting on the tailgate, and BS'in . I almost never remember to disable the alarm before closing the tailgate...
