I received my Denso Iridium plugs yesterday and installed them last night. What a difference! I noticed a lot smoother idle and a quicker response and power. My truck has just over 15K miles and the old plugs didn't look too bad. I wanted that feeling of power and throttle responsiveness I had when the truck was new and it sure feels like its back. I'll keep everyone posted on gas mileage as I'm taking a 400 mile trip to western North Carolina Friday. It will be interesting to see what difference in MPG can be gained. I don't have any regrets getting these plugs even though they are a little pricey.

I too put the bosch platinum Plus 4's in at about 16,000. When I pulled the factory denso's, they had a black build up, not that bad because my shortest drive is usally 20 min or more at 60+mph. The new plugs run much smoother and add more throttle response at a higher range. I kicked it down the other day when I was rolling at about 15 mph and the tires barked......
--------------------
If it feels good, let me try it....
0-60 7.4 sec
1/4 mile 15.6 @ 91.14 mph.

KLS,
My plugs were changed out at 700 miles. You guys that are running the stock Densos should pull a plug and check for fouling. I do a lot of short trip driving and my plugs were sooty black at 700 miles. The Bosch platinum+4s made a big difference.

How's this.........I had under 1100 miles on my Seq. I swithced to the Platnium Plugs. It is more responsive and smoother.
SteveG also sells the Iridiums. About 3 bucks a piece difference in price.
You can ask TundraRose about the responsiveness. She has driven my Truck.
Good Luck...

KLS, I just had my 30,000 mile service done and I am a pain in the @ss so i sit in the shop and watch the guy work on my truck. I had the stock Denso plugs changed. I really didn't notice a difference. The mechanic did say that if I put the Iridium plugs in then I would notice a slight difference, BUT, then he said that since I didn't have a s/c there is really no reason to put the iridium plugs in unless I really wanted to. Just my 4 pennies.

I wish---
I wish the next guy that puts in high performance spark plugs first puts in a set of new stock plugs, test drives his truck, then puts in the new high performance plugs and lets us know if there's a significant difference.
Sure, iridium plugs will feel great after removing old stock plugs with 30,000 miles on them. New stock plugs will feel pretty good, too.

Thanks Guys, yeah it appears I have the platinum, not the iridum. I got them in without a problem. Even though my truck was 100% before,I can still tell it has a smoother idle.... and what I convince myself is a little more pick-up.
Did I make the wrong call not going withthe iridium though??

The plugs you have are the platinum not iridium plugs.

Plugs were pre gapped so far as I know. (mech installed while on the dyno)
I bought them at a local performance shop not from Steve. Check Denso's web page for more particulars on the part number. I have thrown the box away that they were in but I seem to remember IK20 or somthing like that. The web page will have info.

ooops, i just looked at the very first pot..can I assume these are the right plugs now!?
I would love to be able to put them in tonight or tomorrow morning...they look to be gapped at about .040, or at least one of them. Does anybody know the correct gap for these...sorry for all the questions, I just want to make sure I get it exactly right.
Thanks Guys,
Bo

I got my plugs today (for my v8) from Steve G.
Part Number on Invoice says 90919-01196
The plug says PK16TR11.
From looking at previous posts.... The IK16 is for the V6... I hope this isn't what I have. Can anybody help me on this. Also, what would the gap be for these plugs, if they are the correct ones.
Thanks so much
Bo

Snoopy did the plugs come pre-gapped or did you have to gap it to .032? I think you've helped me to make up my mind. Looks like I'll order me a set this weekend. A 1 to 1.5 increase in MPG is considerable, especially in stop in go traffic like you said. A 3 HP gain is also good. I just want some consistent performance and MPG out of this puppy. It seems somedays this truck wants to roll and other days it's hesitant. Thanks for the info everybody!

I've noticed in various things I've read about the Denso Iridium Plugs that idle speed seems to go up? Why would that be? Ddle speed should be controlled by the computer? Strange.

I have had the Denso Iridiums for about 3 - 4k miles. Gas milage since has been about 1 to 1.5 MPG better (Houston stop and go traffic).
I had the truck on the dyno just before and just after the install for comparison.
Improved Horsepower by 3. (average of three pre install and three post install). Addtionally, I noticed that the graph showed a smoother line with far less dips or surges with iridiums. This was noticable especially during normal acceleration conditions.
Idle RPM went up about 200.
Cost per plug was 13.50 at a local performance shop and were in stock.

What's the price for the Denso Iridium Plugs for a TS Supporter from Steve G.? I saw on one of the other Web Sites someone posted here that they were $11.99 a plug plus S&H. The performance store here in Virginia Beach wanted $130 for a set of 8 plugs. I had heard that these were the plugs to go with but I've also read about the new NGK Iridium IX plugs that are supposed to last for 100,000 miles. I'm still weighing my options but Iridium Plugs will definitely be my choice, it's just figuriing out which one.

i have had my iridium plugs on my seg for about 18,000 miles now. i noticed when i first installed them the idling increased a little bit and it idled a lot smoother. i don't remember if there was any change in performance, coz at this point i have installed a trd cat-back and k&n fipk gen II , my mileage improved by about 1 mpg(i have a lead foot) but there was considerable improvement in performance, especially on the high end.

The Denso Iridium Plug part numbers are IK20 (Denso 067700-8690) for the Tundra and Sequoia V8, and IK16 (Denso 067700-8680) for the Tundra V6.

I recently stopped in my local Pep Boys auto parts store and I'm pretty sure the plugs they had listed for the Tundra included a listing for the Iridium plugs at $9.XX each. The guy said they would have to special order them, so I said I'd check around locally first.
If you've got a Pep Boy's near you check with them on the price, it may save you a few bucks!

Has anyone installed the Denso Iridium Spark Plugs? I did some reading on them and they are supposed to be awesome. I'm thinking about buying some but wanted to hear from someone on this forum that installed them in their Tundra and see what they thought. Thanks.

I've got the v8. It's not hard to change the plugs, just very different. Loosen the bolt and pull off the coil. Each plug has an individual coil. No spark plug wires, no distributor, no rotor. It's a deep well, but the plug is down there. You really need a spark plug socket that has a rubber gasket that will hold the plug in to get the old plugs out of that hole. I think it was a 16mm. There is plenty of room on the passenger side and you can make it work on the drivers side, it's just a bit tougher.
