Yellow/gold fog light bulbs
For those of you who are interested, I researched till my eyes bled on the 9006 fog light bulbs for our trucks.
I wanted amber/yellow/gold coloring (like the old Cibies or Fox lights) without changing anything but the bulbs. Yellow reflects less light during foul weather conditions. NO one made a decent set, there were some made by Polarg and PIAA but at prices ranging from $80-120 and no warranty, I wasn't willing to chance it.
I came across a set for $30, with a year warranty from www.supremepowerparts.com out of Placentia, CA. This seemed worth a try, so I bought a set.
Install is simply a swap, easy on my '02. After cleaning the bulbs with rubbing alcohol and locking them into the fog light housings, I turned them on. The light isn't exactly what I was looking for. I was looking for pure yellow or amber or gold. These bulbs emit a yellowish hue that still is white. There is definitely a difference between the original fog light bulb and this, but not as much as I wanted.
All in all, I'll keep these in. Still waiting for some foul weather to arrive to try them. BTW, I got the stock wattage of 55w, rather than the 80w they also offer. Didn't need any trouble with melted wiring!
