Default Humming sound in 4x4 mode

I have a '03 SR5 4x4 and lately when I shift into four-wheel drive, there's a faint humming sound, starting around 25 mph which gets louder as speed increases. The sound disappears when I'm back in 2-wheel drive mode. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks.

Hey rolandfu, Welcome to TS.com. I haven't heard the noise that you are referring too. I try to put my SQ in 4WD once a month to lube everything up. Does the humming ever go away if you keep it in 4WD?

Thanks Boone for your reply. The humming is there the whole time I'm in 4WD, just varies in loudness. Sounds like it's not a common problem with SQ which could be a good thing. I'll keep an eye on it.
