Default Sirius/XM antenna install in '07 Sequoia?

Hi all,

Has anyone installed Sirius or XM in a late model Sequoia? I have an '07, and I've surmised that the antenna will need to be routed in through the third brake light (through the rubber boot), but from there I'm not sure how to get it to the front cab area. I need to drop down quickly to avoid the side air bags, and am just curious how others have done it.

Thanks!

I just went threw the boot then made a small hole in the boot and ran the wire threw there. Then I sealed around the hole with plenty of black Silicone and have not had any problems. Johnnnnny

i keep mine inside the vehicle on the front dash - in the middle near the winshield and dont have any reception problems. The sirius antenna is a magnet, but you can put a little piece of double sided tape and stick it down. Then just run the wire between the winshield and the plastic vent area. I didnt want any wires outside the vehicle that could snag - plus it looks ugly.

I ran mine right thru the fire wall by the steering wheel and thru the engine compartment. It is on the corner of the hood facing the driver seat. You can't even see the wire and it took me less than five minutes to install. The reception is also fantastic in that spot. You will need one of those wire grabber tools to get the wire thru the rubber fire wall opening. Take a look at the picture if you click on my camera.

I installed XM in my 04. Mounted the antenna on the roof about 6" forward of the rear hatch and cut a small slit in rubber tail light boot to get the connector on the end of the antenna cable through. Used RTV (I think) to seal the slit afterwards. Then I bought a cable threader at home depot (about $20), taped the antenna wire to it, and pushed it forward through the headliner. It came out just above the driver's door and then I was able route it by hand to the control unit, which I mounted in the IP behind and to the left of the radio. The XM unit I have is hard-wired to the car. I wanted a clean look without power cables or a cable running into the cassette deck. It has been in place about 2 years and I have not had any probelms.
