Default Re: Does Sequoia needs Valve Adjustment?

Let me preface this to say I am NOT a mechanic. However, I do remember reading something about this in the past and what I have to add is AS I REMEMBER IT. Yes, the valve adjustment should be checked at a certain specified interval. IF the clearance is not within spec's, the adjustment is made with shims which requires removal of the camshafts. However, it is almost unheard of for the valve clearance to be out of spec. Personally, I am not going to be concerned about it. I have 130,000 miles on our Sequoia now and I feel confident we will get 200,000 trouble free miles as our 2001 has been relatively trouble free to this point. I hope this helps and if I'm wrong about valve adjustment, I hope someone will correct me.
