New Hi/Low HID Conversion 07 Sequoia disabled my Foglights!!!

Hi all, First Post!! I installed an H4 8000k HID Hi/Low Conversion kit on my dads new 07 Sequoia and they look pretty sick! The only problem now is that the foglights wont turn on.... My thinking is that the truck thinks the headlights are on High Beam therefore shutting them off per normal headlight operation. My Dad took it to the dealership and they offered to remedy the situation for $300 which I think is rediculious! Is there anyone out there that has had this same problem and maybe knows of a solution?? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!!!

If you can't find the problem, instead of paying the dealer $300, buy another HID kit for the fog lights and run a seperate switch. That way you can put the fogs on when the head lights are off.

Wow,...... I hadn't thought of that, thanks for the suggestion! Dang, now it's time to go shopping around again! I would however still like to know what's causing the problem, so if anyone has any ideas, let me know, thanks!

Are you running a true dual xenon setup with a single ballast and h4 solenoid?

Thanks for the referrence but my HID kit is a dual Hi/Low conversion, sounds like his situation is a little different.

Mine is a dual hi/low...uses a solenoid to tilt the bulb to get the high beam.

Not sure how it fits but when I was "playing around" trying to get my fogs to stay on with the high beams, extra voltage somewhere shorted out the ground in the body ECU for the fog lights. Only fix was bypassing and running new wires or replacing ECU. I lucked out and covered tracks very well and after tech spent 1.5 hours trying to place blame couldn't come up with any evidence except bad ground in ECU. They replaced it under warranty. I then ran a separate harness for $35 and they work with parking lights and stay on with high beam. No more playing with the factory wires/computers for me.

I found that my fogs did not turn on because the vehicle can no longer sense that you lights are on.

I wired a 20 watt resistor from radio shack into the low beam side and presto my fogs now work as they should.

sorry to bump this thread but the exact samething happened to me. i got this hid conversion (yes, solenoid driven) and the fog lights on the truck went out. i had to call the dealer something like 4 times and they still didn't have a solution.

is this a new toyota related problem? i'm thinking of picking up an IS as well, but i'm half thinking this hid problem is going to plag me some more.

yeah, there are plenty online. i picked up this conversion kit from never burn out, but i think you can find an equivalent in lots of places.
