It can be extra fun wheeling up a hill in 4 LO 1st, then use reverse (it unlocks) then go back to 1st and see if it will lock again - been there done it, not all that much fun.

That is what I thought. Thank you for confirming that for me. I really hate car dealers.

I had to use 4Lo again today and remember how it works on mine. I put it in 4Lo, the center amber light blinks for a bit and goes out. This means I'm in 4Lo all-wheel drive. I then shifted down to L or 1st (can't remember what it was labeled) but the amber light automatically came on blinking until it went solid. Then I had wheel bind when turning, now it is in what I would call true 4 wheel drive, not all-wheel drive. As soon as I move the trans shift lever, amber light starts blinking and then goes out, back in AWD.

- I've been talking back and forth with a guy that did the mod to make the transfer case lock when in in any gear, so far he's sent me some pics and notes, looks to me like I'll be doing this mod this fall!!

If possible, could you post the information about that mod? I and i'm sure lots of others, would like to add the option of locking the center differential in any gear.

I have schematics, and some ideas... but if someone has already done so sucessfully... why recreate the wheel. Thanks
