Default Where to place an amp?

So, I was supposed to have an amplifier installed at circuit city today, but they called me half way through the install and informed me there was no place they could place the amp in the vehicle...They only place fesable was in the trunk, but their RCA cables weren't long enough...Do you all know of a place that one does fit...I have a very tiny one underneath my passenger seat that could be moved, but they said neither one of the seats is tall enough...Any thoughts?

If you remove the air ducts from underneath the front seats, there's lots of room to fit amps.
What kind of install shop doesn't have RCA cables long enough?

They said their longest was 17ft...and that wouldnt reach to the back of the trunk where they were going to mount it to the floor...Im kind of glad it didn't happen now...but I'd love to know more about under the seat and moving the air ducts...

Interesting since the overall length of the Sequoia is 17 ft. I guess they never thought to two cables and a female/female connector!

I removed both the air ducts from under my front seats and placed amps under both seats. There are some pics in my gallery here of some of the different amps I've used:

If you remove the seats, center console, and pull the carpet back.....there is a joint in each duct right up near the front of the center console. The ducts are a single molded piece and there are only a couple screws that hold them down. Just remove them and cap off the duct with duct tape. That will give you enough room to mount amps. In my case, I adhered a board underneath each seat to the chassis, laid the carpet back down and then screwed the amps through the carpet to board underneath. Just make sure you don't use a board too thick and that the amps don't interfere with the function of the seat.

Removing the air ducts is probably cleaner than what i did, but i put my sub amp on the floor in between the third row seat and the second row seat, behind the driver. I Ran the cables up the driver side door sill, and my rca's made it, but not with much room, and they were 15ft. My amp is pretty large(1000wt mono) and i have never had problems with it there. I've had 7 people in the car multiple times and people have never said anything, they just rest their feet on top of the amp(amp is solidly built and nothing on the top will get screwed up by feet resting on it).

One other suggestion would be to mount it on the back of your sub box(assuming it's running subs) and figure out the RCA problem with longer ones or female adapter.)
