Question How to replace broken cable from rear door?

Guys,
Has anyone replace the cable from the rear door? I finished replacing the broken door handle, but then notice the little plastic on the cable is broken. I assume I have to replace the whole cable, but not sure how. I have looked around, and not sure how/where to start?

Can I just buy the cable?

Has anyone done this? If I cant fix this, I am going to give the work to the local dealer. Help please?

Thanks
Chris

Man, I owe you! You have no idea how long I spend looking at the door, freezing my a** off in the driveway and getting this weird look from my neighbours walking their dogs. They must have think this guy is weird, keep opening and closing the back door, walking around, and staring at it

I am not a mechanical type guy but trying to learn here and there. It may looked simple, but this is not easy for me. I was also afraid doing anything out of fear making things worse or breaking more stuffs. The picture worth a thousand words, and my wife can stop asking me when the door and the back window will work again, not to mention all of the parts laying around the garage. Going to buy the parts tomorrow....
