Tried Everything Cannot Open Rear Door

[Just the facts]

Thanks to the numerous posts concerning the problems with the rear door I was able to remove all the necessary parts to access the rear latch. Even though I am able to pull the cable by hand the door still will not open. The electric door lock sounds like it is opening when you press the button. The rear wiper works. There are two good sized bolts on the underside of the truck that would seen to match up with the the bar the latch would hold. Does anyone know if removing these two bolts will allow me to open the rear hatch?

Between the hitch and the spare tire and the lack of clearance they caused I wasn't able to get the bolts to turn. Tried pulling on the cable release one more time, heard a click and was able to open the rear hatch. Removed the locking mechanism and spent the next day trying to remove the lower electrical connection. Finally discovered that you must insert a small nail into the hole in the plug and pry it outward to release the connector. Removed the outside plastic protector and oiled the locking mechanism. I then shut the lock by hand and was unable to get it to rerelease. Played with for another half hour or so and gave up for the day. The next day examined the lock again noticed something was blocking the travel path of the locking arm and pulled out a plastic wire tie. Even though the locking mechanism is completely encased in plastic the wire tie to the top plug is located inside the cover which allowed to to fall in just the right place to prevent the door from opening. Hopefully this help someone else. (I can't be the only one this unlucky?)

Can anyone tell me how to open the rear hatch if you can NOT open the door using the cable? The only way I can see is to cut away the plastic covering from the inside of the rear door and then manually try to open it....THEN replace ALL the parts of the rear door lock!! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!

honestly, go to the dealer.. i wouldn't go to cenral florida toy though

Make sure you hit the door unlock button while the electronic module is still connected. I had the same problem, I heard the click of the door locks but the rear hatch wasn't unlocking because I had the module unplugged to access the inside of the door.

I have tried everything. I have tugged on the cable and nothing. The plugs were all pluged in and was still unable to get it to open. I take it the cable engages a switch to unlock the latch. do you have any other suggestions?
