VSC/ABS "deceleration sensor"
2003 Sequoia. I was told by my Toyota service center on Friday that the reason my VSC/ABS instrument panel lights are on is because of a failed "deceleration sensor." They said this sensor monitors inertia and communicates with the VSC system. They also said it senses 'roll' and will trigger the airbags. Estimate to replace the sensor: $650!! I told them to put it back together and they made me sign a waiver acknowledging that they told me not to drive the vehicle.
What do you know about this "deceleration sensor?" Is it connected to the airbags in any way? Is there another name for it, I can't find it online?
Any info would be most appreciated!
