Default Help with Musty/Mildew Smell

I have searched everywhere for answers, so finally I registered so I could ask my question...
The rubber window seals/flaps in my Sequoia smell TERRIBLE. This spring when I first rolled down my windows, I almost got sick! The musty/mildew smell is getting a bit better as the windows are down frequently, but it is still very embarrassing. What is causing this and how can I fix it??!!

To clarify - the smell is basically coming from inside my door(s), so that when the windows are down, the window gap in the door reeks, and the rubber seal/flaps (whatever they are called) that are at that opening are saturated with the moldy smell, despite my best cleaning efforts.
Also - those seals look to me like they are misaligned, and maybe allowing a bit of water to get into the door at the very front of the windoq, but since all 4 doors seem to be that way, maybe it's not a mistake, I don't know... please help!! My husband just says "hmm, you're right, that stinks" and does nothing - but he doesn't have to drive it!
Thanks in advance for any help!

Water is expected to get in to the doors when it rains. There are a few drain holes at the bottom of each door to allow for the water to run out. Make sure they are not blocked by debris. You can stick a thin stiff wire up them to clear the opening.

If there was an aftermarket rust proofing applied it could have blocked the holes.

Does the smell come from one door only?
Try isolating the smell by lowering one window at a time.

Good luck
