Default abs and vsc lights on

I just purchased an immaculate toyota sequoia with 30k. 2003 model year. VSC and ABS lights constantly on. Dealer pulled codes and 1203, 1223, 1244, and 1310. He says replace yaw rate sensor to start with no guarantee $550. I can't believe a vehicle with this little use and toyota, and very little miles would have a problem that requires 500 and no guarantee. Anyone have any idea.

I purchased this because I owned a 1998 avalon for 10 years and 250k without any issues.

I am sick please help

Tell him to go ahead and do it, and that you will write them a check for it, but there is "no guarantee the check will clear". When they find the correct part that fixes the problem, tell them thats the part you will cash pay for.

I share your frustration in a company that cant more accurately diagnose a system that has been in place on this model line 7+ years now, and they only way they know how is to start shotgunning the problem with new parts, at your expense.

Without researching it, I'm not sure what each of the codes stand for, but I would check the brake fluid level in the master cylinder, all the O2 sensor connections, and check the ABS sensors to make sure they are in properly in place and their connections are tight. Good luck and let us know how this all ends up.

There are a few things that need to be checked. You have a code for a YAW RATE SENSOR and there are 2 TSB's for 2 diofferent ECU's. It's almost immpossible to tell you whats wrong without looking at the vehicle and not having scan tool DATA.
The C1244 is probably the YAW RATE SENSOR
The C1203 is probably the Translate ECU
The C1310 Is probably the Skid Control ECU.
Each code must be diagnosed thru the TOYOTA repair manual and scan tool and determined what part or parts failed.
The C1223 is telling you that there is a malfunction in the ABS control circuit.
These codes can be very difficult to diagnose as there are 2 updated ECU's to contend with.
Starting with the YAW RATE sensor is a good idea, if it fails the repair manual tests.
As stated above, make sure the brake fluid level is set properly, but this usually just gives the code C1203 when low.
