Tundra*Sequoia is on a distinguished road.
Default MAF sensor

Hey all,

Been thinking about the MAF and its influence on gas consumption - is it recommended that you have it serviced/cleaned by the dealer or is it a do-it-yourself item? if its a do-it-yourself item, then whats the best way to go about cleaning it yourself? any advice would help

thanks

Default Re: MAF sensor

Take it out. There are usually 2 screws and an electrical connector. Using Electronic parts cleaner... GENTLY and I mean GENTLY spray the cleaner on and around the MAF sensor. You can also spray some down inside of it, but be cautioned......DO NOT USE A HARD SPRAY, just kind of mist it to wash any dust/debris there is inside of it. There are wires inside that can break if hit to hard with a spray pressure or air pressure. DO NOT USED COMPRESSED AIR TO DRY.. Let it air dry, will take less than 2 minutes to do so. RE-INSTALL and your done. Don't forget to plug it back in.
