Default Power Steering Fluid Change

I have an 01 Sequioa Limited 4WD. Anyone have the DIY for the power steering fluid change? What power steering fluid should I use? Can I use the power steering fluid that can be purchase at a local autopart stores (valvoline, preston)? Owners manual calls out Dexron II or III. I was thinking of using a turkey baster to suck the fluid at the reservoir.

Turkey baster works well. Buy any good quality DexIII and you will be fine.

Jack up the front wheels with jackstands and block the rear wheels. I use synthetic Mobil 1 ATF just for grins. Disconnect the return (top) hose to the resevoir. Use a tubing adapter and attach a long piece of hose that you can run down to a drain pan.

Start the engine and have someone turn the wheel back and forth a couple of times while you keep the resevoir full. The ATF will get pumped through the resevoir FAST. Be ready. The pumping will stop when the wheel is centered. Once you have flushed with a qt or so, stop the engine. Then reattach hose and fill with ATF. You are done. The hardest part is jacking it up and routing the hose, the rest is easy. Good Luck!
