Default Coil-Over - Yea or Nea

I have a 2002 sequoia and I want to beef it up a little bit. I was thinking a Rev-Tek suspension or a RaceRunner 2.0 coilover kit but after reading the forum alot of sequoia owners are having the VSC engaging on good road conditions. All the threads I have read nobody had those two lifts brands.
So I'am skeptical to beef it up, I don't want to run in those problems.

i have an 05 and i hated the way the front end was low. i went to wheeler's off-road and put a spacer underneath the front coils. it mounted on top of the plate so it didn't compress the coils and still have factory ride and went to next size tires up in an all terrain and think it looks a lot cooler also. good luck-brian

I used bilstein 5100's for the tundra on the front;

Bilstein shocks and struts for cars and trucks - Shockwarehouse.com

And standard bilsteins on the rear. I set the front at max height and put a daystar spacer and air-rite 1000's in the rear. If you're spending as much as these spacers seem to cost just get the new shocks. I installed everything myself and put on some 285/70R17 BFG's. I think the ride and handleing is better than stock too. I found all 4 of my factory shocks were junk and after 6 years if yours are factory they probably are too. Both of my front shocks I could not pull into rebound position after compressing them by hand, this was exactly what I suspected from the factory shocks, the truck was ok on speed bumps but potholes could knock your teeth out. If your factory shocks are sucking the spacers will intensify the effect I bet.

BTW - I wheel my Seq too and I've had no computer issues. My truck had the zero point calibration done not long before the lift. Although no one seems to confirm it I bet if your settings are a little that's the reason the computer will trip when you add the lift and bigger tires.

it dosnt matter if the spacer is on top of the strut or inbetwwen the coil it still compresses when the truck is let down and having spacers is way worse to have because it makes the angle on the cv joints way past its limit, if i were you i would look in to bilsteins 5100 adjustable shocks there only 100 bucks a piece and they are the same as coilovers you just use your stock springs, it lifts the front .5 to 2.5 inchs.

The way I understand Billie 5100s they seem to work on the same principal as spacer lifts. It just depends on which of the three settingsyou have it set to as to how much lift the stock springs are being used for lift.

I had coilovers on the Tacoma I traded in and they were the berries!! The Tacoma didnt have any kind of trac-control though so I don't know how a lift would affect that system. Very interested to know though!!
