Default Loose Mirrors

I've been living with both outside mirrors being loose for a few years on my '03. Dealer replaced driver side one time under warranty but the problem soon returned and soon after the passenger side became loose.

While having a couple of O2 sensors replaced by a local mechanic, I asked him to look at the mirrors. He was able to tighten the screws on the bottom of each mirror and make the problem go away saving me $$$, at least for now.

The dealer had told me that something inside was broken and could not be repaired. They claimed that I must have hit them on something although there are no dings on them - I know I had not. I am thinking that if something was broken, tightening the screws would not have had any effect.

I remember others having this issue. Hopefully yours can be tightened as well. The mechanic said he had to lean on the screws pretty hard to get them to tighten.

Made me happy for now.

Now its time to start thinking about tires.
