Default Starting/battery problems

I was having starting problems with my 2004 2WD Sequoia for two days. It would start but it seemed to have a weak charge. I opened the hood and found out that the terminals were completed corroded. I cleaned the battery acid off the terminal using baking soda and water. I tried taking off the positive terminal to clean the battery post but it was so corroded that it broke. Replaced the broken terminal and cleaned the post. Replaced the terminals on the battery but it would not start. Just clicking sounds. The battery charger indicates that the battery is fully charged.........Anyone with a clue before i take it in to the dealer.

Take your battery to an auto parts house and ask them to load test it. Most will do it gratious. My bet is your battery is knackered. The corrosion on your terminal(s) came from somewhere. What did the other end(s) of your battery cables look like corrosion, no corrosion.?

both ends were corroded but I was able to salvage the negative cable. Took the battery to the auto parts store and they said the battery was dead (unable to retain a charge). Bought a new battery and everything is fine now.

Thanks M in KC
