Exclamation Passenger Seat Adjustments

I picked up my new Sequoia Limited yesterday and my wife and I went for a short drive in the country. She kept trying to adjust the power passenger seat and couldn't. As it turns out . . .

On the driver's side there is a bar like control that rotates forward and backward for seat tilt and pushes forward and backward for seat position. There are also lumbar and seat back tilt adjustments.

On the passenger side the bar shaped control doesn't rotate and there doesn't appear to be a way to adjust the seat tilt. The control is there, but without the arrows, and it doesn't turn. In addition, the lumbar adjustment is missing. The cover where it should be doesn't even have holes in it.

I tried the seat and it's definitely uncomfortable, seeming to tilt slightly forward. In about five minutes everything starts to hurt.

The book shows all the adjustments and doesn't say some are not on the passenger side.

Do you guys have seat tilt adjustments on the passenger side? This sounds small, but it's a very significant problem. I just spent $40K+ for a car that's uncomfortable! Help!

The passenger seat does indeed not have as many adjustments as the driver. No one in my family as expressed any discomfort though, in fact we think the Sequoia is one of the most comfortable road trip vehicles we have ever had.

The power controls on the passenger seat move the position fore and aft and up and down basically. The seat back angle, etc.. is adjustable but is manual.

There is no lumbar support for the passenger side. As a matter of fact, there isn't in our Avalon either.

Thanks for the replies, guys. Brian, the seat back angle is adjustable, even power adjustable. It's the seat itself (what your butt's on) that's the problem. You can't adjust the tilt either manually or with power.

If anyone has manual seats, can you adjust the tilt on the passenger side? Maybe I can order a manual seat and replace this one. I'll have to forego the seat heater, but what the hell, it's her buns, not mine!

The passenger seat will not tilt, and that also happens to be my wife's biggest complaint about Sequoia. You will need to buy the Land Cruiser to get this feature.

I like the Seq, but there are a few designs that I think are totally illogical and unacceptable for a $42K vehicle. They should just fire all the designers here and go back to Japan for ideas.
