One thing I noticed with our Sequoia is that if you grease the rear driveshaft slip yoke, the excess grease does not weep out anywhere. It just forces the driveshaft to get longer, thus not allowing the slip yoke to compress at all. Has anyone ever ran into this. Most driveshafts will allow the excess grease past the splines and then either spit out the dust seal or a weap hole in the middle of the yoke itself.
I ended up taking the shaft out, removing all the grease and then put a light coat of synthetic grease on the splines.

The TSB for the clunking sound is 2wd only. I also have a 07 4x4 and took it in for the TSB repair only to be told after 6hrs in the shop that the TSB is for 2wds.

They told me to bring it in and speak directly with the shop foreman and let him test drive it with me.

If it were me, I'd probably replace the driveshaft. There is a TSB for Tundra 4x4's and Sequoias are Tundras for the most part.
But thats me, and you didn't hear that from me.SHHhhhhhhh
The test procedure in this TSB will tell you if it is the problem.

I finally got my 07 4x4 back into the dealer to diagnose the clunking problem. The earlier Sequoia TSB did not apply to my car since it is for 2wd only. I also brought the Tundra 4x4 TSB dealing with this very same issue. One of the technicians from Toyota HQ happened to also be there that day. After several hours they deemed that what I experience was "normal" and there is no fix issued from Toyota dealing with this. They would not apply the Tundra TSB becasue its not for Sequoia's. What recourse do I have? Is there a way to complain to Toyota about this issue?

Is there a TSB for the 2008 2WD Tundra, I have the clunking noise going from a dead stop and during turns on my 2008 Toyota Tundra 2WD Crewmax, and I am hoping they have a fix for this problem; as I will have the truck in the body shop this week or nxt. I got into a wreck recently but the noise was there before the wreck and was actually there from day one.

Please give any advise you have. I have read on the forums about a clunk on the 4WD but have not seen anything for the 2WD.

Please advise Mustang or anyone else who has any knowledge of this problem.

Thanks in advance!
