Default Vsc trac off

I just want to share an experience with other Sequoia owners
My Sequoia 4WD 2003 with almost 90k, suddenly got the both VSC lights AD the check engine light on at the same time.

The Toyota dealer hooked it up and gave me the codes, P0057, C1203 and C1360. The first code indicates a oxygen sensor needs to be replaced, the other two (according to the service guy) indicated the need of replacement of two pressure sensors in the master cylinder.

Part cost about 1000 plus 470 dollar something in labor. Well this was not within my budget so I paid the 95 dollar for the help and left.

I called the guy I normally use to help out with my cars. He listened to my story and his answered.
Toyota and Lexus computers sometimes screw up due to one fault code. This COULD be the case especially as all three light came up at the same time.

His recommendation was to replace the ox-sensor and find out. Well, so he did and charged me 197 dollar including labor and tax.

All three light went off!

Based on his knowledge this is a common Toyota/Lexus issue. Shouldn’t a Toyota-dealer have at least the same knowledge?
I recall the service guy couldn’t tell me where the master sensors were located. Did he try to screw me?

Well I saved some money using not a Toyota dealer

In my experience O2 sensors like to throw other sensors off. I would have suggested doing the O2 sensor first (like your friend did) because that would have given you a better idea. Hopefully it was just a less experienced person you dealt with at that dealership! But good info for you to share for others to learn from! Thank you!!
