Default abs lights and more

driving down the highway and truck jerked, beeped and VSC lights came on. Next time drove truck out of driveway and brakes starting pumping. Towed to dealership. they want new actuator (sp) and also told rear axle housing is rusting. It is 2001 with 120k miles. total quote for repair is 9800 to dealership. I live in sunny Fl. Can I turn off the abs and drive without antilock brakes? has something broken?

Take it somewhere else. Now.

I'm assuming they want to replace the entire rear axle since it is rusting? Ask them to show you where it's rusting through the housing. Then ask why doesn't the 15 year corrosion perforation warranty apply.

Is your braking affected?

Take it somewhere else, get another opinion. Could be a wheel speed sensor for all we know.
