Default VSC OFF and VSC TRAC lights go on and off

Hi all,

While driving my 01 sequoia today the VSC OFF and VSC TRAC lights came on. When i got home and turned the car off the lights went out. I started the car and went to the store and they never came back on.

When i was leaving the store the check engine light came on. I got home and turned the car off and came in the house.

Who know what tomorrow will bring, depending on what lights show up tommorrow depends on what i will do. Any suggestions? Thanks

You need to have the codes scanned and go from there.

I have an 03 LTD. Welcome to the club. This is a known problem. I've had mine to the Toyota dealer and other shops numerous times without a resolution. Even had it to the shop when the lights were on and with the veh running, they couldn't diagnose the problem. Happens to us in cold weather about 2 or 3 times a winter. Always seems to reset when the truck is turned off. I'm living with it with no problems read other posts in this forum. If the lights come on, I immediately pull off the road at the first safe place, turn the truck off, sit for a sec and then restart it. The lights go out and do not come back on. This seems to reset everything. Unless you notice a decrease in performance or serious handling issuess, I'd recommend you "reboot" the veh and live with it.

It is a very common problem for our trucks. I went to the dealer and actually got the computer replaced under warranty. 1 week later, lights came back on. It's a computer issue.

I've also read somewhere that the lights come on if you need new brakes. But I'm not exactly sure where I read that though. I can't confirm that anywhere either.
