Default New used Sequoia and a few problems

Been on the forum before under a different username when we first got our 05 Tacoma dbl cab

Anyways we picked up a second vehicle, a 2003 Sequoia LTD that was well used and a 167,000 km on it.

First big headache is that the interior has been beat up fairly well, maybe a dog got loose and was scatching and chewing?

Also the stock DVD system was torn out by either a thief or the previous owner as there are gouge marks wherever they pried off the dash panel.

And the rear seat air control panel is **** kicked and has no wiring connected to it. The center console doesn't stay shut and that also is tore up.

And the overhead drop down screen was "replaced" by a board that is covered in speaker grill that matches the same as on the door speakers (so I assume they have been messed with as well?).

The engine is strong and the outside is about 8.5 out of 10. The ride is a little harsh and with all the windows rolled up there seems to be alot of clunking going on with the back seats or is it something else???

There are no floor mats???

Only a single key with remote was given to us???

Now on to the fixes:

There was a crappy single din deck installed that I am replacing with a decent Pioneer touchscreen DVD. Since the factory deck is gone as well as the stock mount brackets I had to customize my own mount by expoxy'n the plastic bracket mounts off the single din mount that they put in to the "ears" that they say are all you need to mount up a new double din (of course they don't tell you you need the factory brackets off the stock deck!)

I found a nice center console on ebay that has the rear controls as well as the headphone jacks/control and all the wiring that goes with it! Only $74.97

Toyota here says the floormats are no longer available so I just got some decent aftermarket ones at Canadian Tire

The keys are a totally different story! Toyota said all that I have is the valet key and they cannot extract the chip data to a new key? They said we would have to buy a new computer and keys etc at a cost of over $1500 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What would be decent drop down screen to put in place of the missing stock unit? I see alot of ebay but I am unsure what size to go with.

You will not need a new computer for the keys, max price should be about $600 to get a full set of keys and remotes. Do a search for "keys" in the 1st gen sequoia forum.

We have an 11 inch screen in our '05, I don't think I would go larger. We got the Audiovox.

Why would you want to buy a truck that badly beat up makes no sense
