OK, I have searched and searched but I have not found the specifics on my question. I have an 2002 LTD 4x4 Sequoia 79k miles. Im getting ready to have the timing belt done. I will give you my location in case you all know who I can trust to do the work or have any comments on the business's I'm about to mention.
Im in Hampton Roads area of Virginia, I have called First Team Toyota and the quoted me around $400 to do T-belt and water pump, I then called Japanese Auto Masters in Virginia Beach and the quoted me $950 but besides the previously mentioned work they would be replacing seals, I can t remember which ones right off hand except they did say a cam seal, so seals, T-belt and water pump.
So my question is should I do the full replacement service for over $900 or should I just do the basic service. (I mean are these seals a problem or are they maybe better left alone???)
The Sequoia is my wifes and is a commuter, it doesnt tow or go offroading. We do plan on keeping it until it dies and then getting another one
I was going to replace my seals but it was suggested by a friend, who is also a Toyota Master Mechanic for over 20 years that, if it's not leaking don't replace it. So, I didn't.

Agreed 110%. Replace anything directly related to the timing belt, including ALL rollers and the water pump. Even if nothing is wrong, the extra $200 is nothing compared to the chance of a $4000 rebuilt engine down the road. These are interference engines and that timing belt can cost thousands of dollars in repairs (they're finally getting back to chains tho!)
I haven't personally seen the rollers or seals go bad, so I wouldn't replace the seals, but I would never chance the rollers. Every timing belt job we do gets the water pump, tensioner(s) and idler(s).

A roller is an idler bearing. They are more likely to break than the belt itself.
