Default Where is actuator?

Can someone tell me where the actuator is for the 4wd transfer? Mine is blinking orange again. I had this problem under a year ago on my 03 and the dealer charged $90 to "free up" the actuator. Can I free it up myself with a hammer? I'd like to try. Any help? Thanks so much!

unfortunately i think your "actuator" issue may be an internal jam in the tranfer unit, the electric motor that move the rods hardly ever fail alone. i dont really have any advice for you other than if it does free up think about changing the fluid in your transfer case, might try 75-140 full synthetic gear oil. hope this helps.

Thank you for your response. I just recently had the 60,000 maintenance package done which cost an arm and a leg. You'd think they would've changed the fluid in the transfer case.
Thanks again.

Update... my orange light that was blinking was accompanied by the VSC OFF light today. I had parked going up a steep hill. And when I left, the VSC OFF light caught my eye so I pressed the 4wd button again and both that and the orange blinking light when off. ????

I'm afraid to attempt the engage the 4wd again for fear it'll still be stuck. Maybe I should have that fluid changed before trying it. Good think it's not January.
