I had mine replaced last spring @ 102k and it ran me around $700.00. The shop didn't replace the water pump because they said it appeared to be fine. I priced it around at a few shops and they were all around 800-900(which included a new water pump and serpentine belt. I haven't had any problems, but wish I had the water pump changed at the same time.
Well I'll answer my own post. Yesterday I had my dealer do a "timing belt package" on my 2001 Sequoia. For $925 they replaced the following:
Timing belt
Serpentine belt
water pump and gasket
thermostat
cam seal
crank seal
coolant(antifreeze)
The timing belt was in very good condition. I have 94500 miles on it.
The serpentine belt was in fair/good condition.Small cracks along its entire length.Non threatening though.
The water pump looked almost like new to me. I have only replaced the coolant once about 4years ago.I've added a little over the years though.
I would not hesitate to go 130k next time given, what I saw, for your info
You may not hesitate to go 130k next time but it I personally would cough up the money to have it replaced every 100k like it is supposed to be. I too paid around $900 to have mine done at the dealer with all genuine toyota parts which included,
timing belt
water pump
cam seals
timing belt tensioners
new coolant
serpentaine belt
The $900 is a deal compared to being cheap and trying to go extra mileage over what is recomended and having one of the belts break because when that happens you now need to buy a new 4.7L engine and labor to have it put in. Just my 2 cents but there are some things you just don't skimp on.

With the 4.7l being an interference motor, I would be cautious to give out such advice. I'd rather pay $900 for a TB/WP replacement than $4000 for a motor replacement...
Well,,I have not heard or read where anyone has had one break yet in their Sequoia or Tundra. My friend at work went 120K with no problems. Has anyone had one break out there?
It does not need to break, all you need is the belt to become worn and jump a tooth or 2 and bye bye motor. Do whatever you want dude, it's your vehicle and your money but Toyota recomends 100k for a reason.
Again, I personally have not heard of one incident of a belt jumping a tooth, or breaking.
Surely there have been some ignorant of financialy strapped owners that have 140K plus miles on their original belt. I'd sure like to know some of those real world cases if anybody would like to chime in.
I would like to examine a new belt to compare to my old one.
I had mine replaced at the dealer over 100,000 miles on my sequoia. (total cost labor and materials, $430)
On my Tundra first timing belt was replaced at 184,000 miles, and second one was replaced at 337,000. Both times, i've replaced water pump, even thou water pump looks new.
In both cases, it seems like timing belt does not looked cracked or worn out really bad.
I would recommend to replace timing belt at 90k miles. If you feel comfortable, you can go to 130k miles.

Well, thats good info and might give some of us who go longer than reccomended a little peace of mind. 184K on the original belt? Wow! Then 153K after that? I'm surprised you then reccomended 90K. Do as you say, not as you do I guess. Thanks for the reply.
my 01 Sequoia is at 185k and i recently bought the parts to do a timing belt job from ToyotaPartSales.com (Toyota of Dallas):
timing belt: $40.90
right-hand pulley: $69.13
left-hand pulley: $69.42
water pump gasket: $4.59
water pump: $111.59
