Default Overhead Display is hot to the touch

We have a 2005 Sequoia and the overhead display for fuel mileage, etc. gets hot to the touch, even with the display turned off. I thought this was a little odd and worrysome. When I say hot, I can keep my hand on it, but I wouldn't call it warm. It is hot.
Is this normal? We never noticed it before, but then again I don't make a habit of actually touching the clear plastic panel where the digital readout is often.
Thanks,
Jerry

I don't think that should happen...take it to the dealer man...

Thanks, but I'm not much of a "take it to the dealer" type of person. I do my own work. I was more interested in seeing if others have the same situation. I would appreciate some input from others with the same overhead unit. If I'm the only one with it warm/hot then I'll remove it and check it out further.
Thanks,
Jerry

40 minute drive today, daylight: no lights on. Overhead console was not warm at all.

Thanks Pewter. Was the display on though (the green digital numbers ,etc.) or was that completely off too?
Thanks!

Pewter,
Okay. Thank you. I appreciate it! Looks like I will be pulling it apart very very soon!
