Default 2001 Sequoia skid plate removal

Hello everyone, Great forum! First post. Just bought a 2001 sequoia. I did the first oil change yesterday (without removing the skid plate). I wanted to remove the skid plate, but as soon as I looked at the five rusted bolts, I thought...these are going to break as soon as I put a ratchet on them. I have a 1995 Corolla where all of the bolts broke when I attempted to remove the plastic shroud. Any tricks to getting the bolts loose without breaking them?

I use PB Blaster and let them soak for days with periodic reapplication. Tap on the heads after you apply the PB - tap, don't beat on them. That's the most I've ever done to to loosen rusted bolts but thats no guarantee. If they do loosen but get tighter as their coming out, spray more PB on the exposed threads and turn them back in clockwise to lube the threads then counter-clockwise again to remove. Keep working them out that way. Good luck!
