Default **looking for OEM JBL speakers for Sequoia**

I just bought a 05 Sequoia, and the front speakers are blown. If you have the OEM JBL speaker and you are not using them and willing to sell them please let me know. I do not want to pay $200+ from the dealership. I do not mind if they are used, just not another broken speaker. Please help if you can. thanks.

This may be slightly off topic, but I was convinced my speakers were blown because the sound distortion was pretty bad. However, the speakers looked fine once I pulled them out of the doors.

Was your speaker damage obvious? I didn't check the tweeters in the top of the doors, has anyone seen damage in those?

I'm starting to think my amp(s) are cooked, but don't know how to test them.

I just went threw this with an 04 tundra double cab It has 86160-AF060 7" speaker. It was starting to to Buzz and I could not see any damage to the foam surround. I did a lot research and came up with using the 6 1/2" driver in the JBL GTO608C. The brackets that come with it fit with out a problem and it is 2 ohm driver just like the factory and amazon has them for $60.00.

I have a 2006 Sequoia and want to replace the speakers in the front as well. Are the speakers separates or are they just a normal single speaker with a woofer and a tweeter in the middle. And are they 7" or 6.5"? Do i need to buy adapters to fit 6.5" speakers? eBay has the adapters for $9.99 a pair. And what are the sizes of the rear door speakers also? Thanks.

They are separates they come with a 6.5", tweeter and crossover. I just used the 6.5" speaker and the adapter that came with the speakers only other thing I needed was 8 1 3/4" screws to mount the speaker adapter to the stock mount. I took the factory female spade connectors out of the factory plug to hookup to the speaker so i didn't have to cut any wires. I didn't check the size of the rear doors but they are smaller than the fronts. While I had the door panels apart I repainted the grills since all mine had rust stains on them.

This states that these drivers a 4 ohm...not 2 ohm drivers. Where did you find them with a 2 ohm driver? Thanks!

I made a video on how I installed the GTO608C into my 2002 Sequoia. The brackets do not fit and have to be modified. I was able to cut the old speakers bracket and connect it to the adapter to make a clean fit. http://http://youtu.be/NcagkMSbb1g

My alternative to replacing the front speakers since mine were also blown was replacing ALL of my speakers and adding a sub and a pioneer HU, sad I did not do this earlier, altogether it ended up costing me 700, did the install myself and made speaker mounts with MDF.

If you happen to have a little extra to spend and are looking to keep the car for a couple more years I would say that you should go with this alternative, the sound difference is unbelievable!!!

I just did this Simply Speakers refoaming kit on my '06 SR5. It was not hard. Results are great! Search youtube for video to remove door panel. And another to do refoaming. You cant tell the speakers are bad until you pull the gasket off. The foam was cracked all the way around on mine.

I did the Simply Speakers re-foam on my Tundra w/jbl (same fronts as the Sequoia) about a month ago. When I discovered the foam looked as if it should be glued to the back of the cone, I called them. Learned it was intended to be glued to the back, but could be glued to the front and their techs actually glue them to the fronts with no problems. They also told me that these re-foam kits come from jbl and are the same exact foams used on the oem speakers. I didn't buy the truck new, but I'd imagine they sound just as they did when they were new.
