Does anyone know how much it costs to add running boards to the SR5 as an aftermarket item? I would assume it is real easy to install by just bolting it on in the pre-drilled inserts located under the body. Correct?

This is not really what you asked, but...
The cost of the lighted running boards from the dealer is barely over $500. If you get aftermarket boards, you may have to have them painted to match and they may not be lighted (comes on when you press the unlock with the keyless entry and when you open the doors).

My 2001 Limited Seq does not have lighted running boards. When did they come out?

they came out last year and i believe that they are all aftermarket.

I have the lighted running boards on my 2001 SR5..
This was an option that I chose when I Special Order(Made) MY seq.
I am not sure if the dealer installed them or if it was a "port" installed item, but I have them!!!!
I am in the process of updating my Photo Page and I'll stick a pic. of my running boards in there....

Mine were installed at the port by Gulf States Toyota (the distributer down here).
