Had made arrangements to drop it off the night before so it could be driven first thing in the morning.
Got a voicemail at 1230 PM saying they couldn't find any noise.
Called back but wound up talking to a service advisor who was not involved. She told me they didn't test drive it until around 1030 AM. It was pretty hot and dry here by 1030 AM.
Went to pick up my truck. The assigned service advisor tells me they drove it around 830 AM but it took him 4 hours to call me because they were so busy.
He said if it happens more often bring it in for a test drive. I said it happens every morning, how much more often than that do you want. So I'll be going back some Saturday morning soon to take someone for a test drive.
I have to tell you, way back when I used to buy Fords exclusively, mine might have needed a lot of repairs, but at least my Ford dealer was very interested in my satisfaction. They bent over backwards for me.
So far this is not a good second shot for Toyota. I owned a Tacoma back in 1997 and Toyota had to buy it back brand new.
nhparrot, could you do me a HUGE favor and got to the Build Your Sequoia page at toyota.com, enter Limited 2WD as the vehicle you want to build, and then show me where you add this option?
edmunds.com says...
"What's New for 2004-
Power front seats and a rear air conditioner are now standard on the SR5 model, and the Limited now comes with a sunroof."
Now, I assume you could always get the moonroof/sunroof on the Limited as an option, so this statement makes me think it's now standard - added to the fact that I don't see where you add it as an option when "building" it at toyota.com. BUT, I don't see it listed as a standard feature, so I'm not sure what the deal is

It is indeed an option (SR) as nhparrot said. Now if you ordered a rear entertainment system (DVD) it is required to have the sunroof and then it might be bundled.
BTW....it is the biggest sunroof I have ever owned and I love mine.
I'm curious why edmunds said it was now available on the Limited in '04. Did it used to not be available on the Limited? And I'm also curious why you can't add it as an option when building a Limited on toyota.com.

F1Jim - the Build your Sequoia on toyota.com or for that matter the Build your whatever on toyota.com is not a good tool to use, as it forces you to select option bundles and not individual selectable options. Instead you should try kbb.com. I based my response to you on a couple of things.
Not only doesn't kbb.com show moonroof as an option when building a Limited 2WD, it doesn't even show the overhead entertainment DVD as an option
The mystery continues...
Adding to the mystery....
I checked the on-line inventory or a couple of Atlanta area Toyota dealers. Every single '03 Limited Sequoia model had moonroof added as an option. Not a single '04 Limited had moonroof added as an option. I'm fairly confident that all of these (if not at least a couple) '04 Limited's do have moonroofs, but there is no listing for the option and no charge on the MSRP.

The moonroof is now standard on the 04 Limited and the price didn't go up, so in essence the veh is now 1k cheaper to buy.
Sounded to good for me to pass up.

Our 2002 Seq. has developed a squeaking or rattling noise coming from the moon roof when it is closed. The noise is worse when driving on bumpy roads. I can get the noise to stop if I push up against the glass, so something must be loose or rubbing. I'll be taking it in to the dealer when I have time.

ericanddoug - was your problem ever resolved?
I have the same problem , only I get it moonroof open or close. I have an overhead dvd installed and found that if I pushed up on the overhead to the left of the dvd it fixed the problem. At least until next serious bump in the road. Even went so far as to remove dvd screen/unit and drove around still occassionally get the sound. I'm starting to thinking it has somethig to do with the support frame that runs across the overhead just aft of moonroof. Visually it doesn't seem to be loose, but its hard to get a good look.
