I read that there is now an Exide Gel battery similar to an Optima. Except you dont have to lenthen the battery cables. Someone got it at Costco for $100, or maybe sams club. Im already on my second toyota battery, the first one lasted 9 months and my truck is stock!
I got the Exide Orbital, same gel technology as the Optima battery. The Orbital doesn't require you to buy a reverse post model or lengthen your cables and costs about $50 less. I bought mine shipped for $80 online.

I know that Toyota has the Alternator output posted on the 03 & 04 Sequoia's Brochures. Does anyone know the output of the Alternator on the 01 - 02 Sequoia's?
I think it depends on whether you have the towing package, which IIRC was optional at least on the '01 models. We have the towing package and I recall reading the that output was either 130 or 150 amps.

I just intalled my new 200amp alternator from Mean Green. It was a direct replacement of the factory alternator. I just had to drill out the main power cable connector a little to fit on the new alternator. The 3-wire regulator plug was a direct fit. Here is the tricky part. When ordering the alternator, Mean Green does not show that they carry anything for Tundra's & Sequoia's. They do however carry Landcruiser 98-04 4.7L high output alternators. That is what I ordered for $369.00 plus shipping. The unit uses the same housing as the factory, but what a difference with 200amps. By the way here is what Toyota wants for their 150A alternators. 27060-0F050 Alternator 150A List $646.65/ Sale $517.32 from toyotapartsworld.
Did you have to give them your old Alternator (core) or was this price without your old alternator? Sounds like a better route than buying the factory model. Did you check to see what a re-build on your old one would cost?

that's not 200A all the time, that's max output of 200A...truck's not gonna draw more than it needs. what was wrong with the 150A, or what are you intending to add that requires an extra 50A capacity?
I replaced with high output ones. I ALWAYS add extra lights to my vehicles as well as other electronic drain items. I had noticed during some of the winters I had issues with the stock ones. Driving through dark areas while freezing rain etc. Having to drive many times with rear defroster on, wipers on, high beams (with extra fog and driving), heat blowing at least medium or high for defrost, and stock was definitely not able to keep up. Cost wise if you get it cheaper is one advantage. Same type of question/answer as to why many people here get OPTIMA batteries when 99% of the people have no issues ever with the stock battery. It's a comfort/ confidence knowing you have that extra capacity and power. It's a mod that benefits some just like lift kits, A/T tires, LSD's, Unichip, S/C, VB, JBA's, (all things I'd love too do if I had the cash) but many people have no need or desire for. God bless us because we have a choice and we can
The best part is reading Mustangs signature and mod line and reading why???
Well, I'd say that's a really good find. Last I read here, the standard alternator was 100A, with a 130A optional(in TO package). So this is quite a jump, but well worth the price if you look at what the dealer wants for the 130A one. And it sounds like an easy install.
My questions would be: 1) Is it reliable? 2) what RPM's does it put out its max. output(200A)? (it probably is around 2.5k, which is fine if you do a lot of freeway driving)
200A may be overkill, but this is a very reaonable price. And if you are looking into a high power stereo system, it actually may not be overkill. Again, good find.
