DuckFan....the sound from the exhaust was extremely loud in the cabin when you were cruising at lower speeds (city driving) so they were to redo it to control the resonance.

tonyv....welcome to TS!! now get ready for a buttload of questions! so how is the S/C? any problems? was it worth the $$$? thanks in advance!

Chris

Thumbs up Go TONYV!

Hey tonyv!

Please start a new thread for all of us to start asking questions. I'm curious what is your max PSI and what rpms are you notciing the SC. I also would like to know how your fuel efficiency is with a "Lead Foot" and a "Light Foot". Thanks

Alex

well trd said it is 7psi. i recived my boost gauge today from trd i will install it this weekend than i can get a good ideal of what it is . if you stay out of the supercharger my fuel performance stayed the same. running it i got 13 to 14 mpg. you feel the boost about 1500 to 2000 rpm if you unplug the bypass you feel it right away. if you do not press hard on the gas the bypass valve vents the boost so your fuel mileage should stay the same

Cool Cool!

Sounds like they pretty much repeated the same formula they had with the 4Runner SC. Thanks for the info! BTW - Do you have to use Premium Unleaded now versus regular?

I think if you are going to pump 7 psi of hot air into your engine, you'd better be prepared to spend the bucks on premium.

Post TRD SC needs premium

As I remember you have to use premium or else the car will sputter and knock really bad. But it is a joy to drive. When you hit that max PSI...Zoom...Zoom...Baby!!!

just finished installing my new trd cat-back system, it has a bigger ressonator after the muffler(ressonator seems to be made by magnaflow). the new set-up is a lot quieter, no more 2k res problem. it does have a louder rumbler b/w 700 rpm to about 2000 rpm, above this point it's alot quieter than the old system. the new set-up sounds more like a "european engine". overall i kinda like it better than the old one.

The change was to get rid of the 2K Res.

I drove off the lot with the EXH.........they took it out a week later. I just have to make an appointment to get down there and have Carson Toyota put the "NEW" Exhaust on.
