Cool

I noticed only a little more engine/mechanical noise when headers were installed. Most of the "noise" is from the open flow-through design of the Dynomax muffler in my Cat-Back system. You shouldn't hear "blaring" sounds with headers.

My manifolds cracked exactly like those in that picture. When I first saw that the Tundra was using tubing manifolds, I thought Toyota must have figured out something that would work, to go away from cast iron manifolds. Wrong!

I replaced my cracked manifolds with headers, and the sound level is about the same as the stock manifolds before they cracked. I don't think you will notice much difference in the sound.

Default Sequoia TRD Cat-Back Exhaust System

Anyone offer any wisdom on the advantages of installing this, without any other engine performance enhancements ?

Default Thanks TundraV84Me

Thanks for the info on SteveG. He's already responded to me. Did you have yours shipped or, being in CA, did you pick it up at Carson ? What might I expect to pay for installation ? This is a bit of an expensive proposition. You mention great sound, etc. How loud is it...don't wan't anything too loud on this vehicle. Is the increase in HP at all notieceble ? Thanks for anything you can add to put me over the edge to go ahead with it !

Hope you don't mind that I throw something else at you. Borla makes a split side dual exhaust that sounds/looks awesome too. Take a look at my photos for pics. Cost was $790. Good Luck!

Lightbulb Thanks Boone

Looks mighty fine as well. Was that price including installation and where did you do business ? How would you rate the increased volume (sound) as compared to stock exhaust and did you see increased gas mileage with the duals ? Thanks again for adding this information.

Thumbs up Cool

We are having a get together on Feb 9 in Issaquah, you should come down. If you want to hear the exhaust, we can hook up before then. $790 was shipped to my door and I installed it with a friend. Gas mileage did not go up. I don't have numbers, but I don't feel that I lost any low end power but did gain mid range power. Shoot me a pm and we can hook up and you can drive it.

No charge for install......

Bought the exhaust before my Sq arrived. Ordered it as part of the package.

Easy install.......Instaled the TRD Exhaust in my Tundra.

First TRD in SQ had a resonance problem.

Second TRD had re designed resonator.

Maybe 5% incerease in road noise at 75mph.

Sound is better with rear window down.......Sweet!

It's where I want it. No annoying cab noise........sounds good on the outside.

If you were local you could have a listen

Alex

Question Single or Dual ?

Thanks Alex. Having seen Boone's posts, what might be the way to go in your opinion ?

Prior to having the exhaust system upgraded, were you experiencing any problems with the rotten egg smell inside the vehicle that so many of us have reported?

If so, is it gone now?

Thx.
