I have a Motorola/Nextel cell phone, which didn't affect the Nissan Quest we had previously. The noise was starting to drive me crazy. At least now I have an answer. Thanks John97.
Happens to me too - with my Nokia 8260 on the AT&T TDMA network. Clearly this is a case of insufficient shielding on the SEQ's stereo system.
You hear the "ticks" whenever the phone polls for towers, receives a message, or when in use. You can minimize how much you hear this by not putting the phone near the front dash. Try putting it in the rear seat cupholder.
I recently purchased an 03 Sequoia Ltd without the DVD option because the dealer did not have one available on his lot and also it seemed a little pricey. Has anyone fully investigated mobile entertainment options for the Sequoia that are superior in quality and more reasonably priced? I'm looking for a unit that is unobtrusive and has an OEM-type fit. If so please detail your equipment and installation requirements for all of us to see.
PS: I've heard Vizualogic has a nice system. Any users?
Chris, thanks for the information, I just looked at a 2003 Sequoia and it had a DVD system from the factory that looked pretty well.

I have an 02 SR5, without the JBL stereo, I got it this way because I knew that I would probably upgrade the audio before long. Thing is...I've out grown those booming systems. All I really want is a nice sounding system, maybe 120-200 watts, no sub...yet. I like the stealthbox, but I'll do that a few months later.
I've been browsing and searching a lot, and I give kudos to a lot of you...great systems all around!
But I'm looking for a minimal install, using just the existing speaker locations and sizes, upgrading the head unit, perhaps a double-sized deck (I think it's called a double din?), that has a single single CD, radio and cassette. If it has an output of perhaps 25-35 watts per channel RMS, that'll probably be enough. If I need more, then here comes the sub.
Anyone out there had good results without an extensive install?
Do a search on speakers and you'll find several threads on speakers and sizes.
As for your head unit, I know the Alpine series is very popular. I see you are from Florida...do you have a Sound Advice anywhere near you? I looked at a nice double-din Pioneer unit they had. Pioneer has always been good middle of the road equipment in my experience.
I would give Pasadena Sound & Security (1880 E Colorado Blvd, Pasadena, CA 91107) a call. That is where I am getting mine. I'm not sure what the price for the Sequoia one is. Shop around and you can find a good deal.

I like Pioneer as well, but normally stay away from Sound Advice, I find them to be way pricey! I believe it was a Kenwood I saw in Circuit City, and I've had good experiences with Kenwood in the past. I've never been a fan of Alpine, but I'll take a look.
