Have a new 2002 Sequoia Limited. All the speakers emit a low buzz when the stereo is turned on to either radio AM/FM, CD, or tape. If on AM the buzzing increases with the rev of the engine rpm. When I turn the volume knob down right before turning the unit is off, the buzzing is very noticable.
Is this an AMP problem? Is it fixable by Toyota or do I have to live with it?
another alternative to the amp question. i think i posted it elsewhere as well. anyways, i noticed TS member: Reggie's setup on the photos page and he had a pretty unique location for his amp. pretty sweet too! it's underneath the second row seats. had to cut the bottom of the 2nd row seats, but it fit. not sure if i'd go this, but just another alternative.
MNSequoia....last i heard it was around early to mid september, but you know how that goes.
btw, before anyone buys please post. we might be able to work something out here on TS.

If the price for the stealthbox is around $550, just have your stereo guy fabricate a box in the storage area per JAOS. One advantage is that you could choose the size of your sub and for another $200, you could also get two amps to power all your speakers and the sub.
just my $.

Maybe I can't count, but the sticker on my Sequoia clearly printed 10 speakers at 8 different locations. Based on your information, I counted 3 on each front door (for total of 6), plus one coaxial on each rear door. That's 8 speakers at 6 different locations!
Am I missing something here? Please help! Thanks.
andrenguyen,
toyota confused me also at first. eight locations would be:
2 for front tweeters
2 for front woofers
2 for front mids adjacent to the woofers (they count that as a separate location)
2 for coax at the back (2 speakers)
so, that's 10 speakers and 8 locations.
when i replaced those speakers, i can't believe how cheap they were, even though it says JBL. IMO, they are not worth the upgrade.

DuckFan,
i added a JL sub at the storage compartment at the back. also replaced all speakers with BA Rally 6.5 components powered by a 5 channel amp underneath the front passenger seat.
overall, i am satisfied with the results. i am not into the "boom-boom" sound, more into tight and clean. so i guess my set-up will stay for a while...

I fabricate a box on the storage with a 10" sub and the amp is hidden inside the storage area too. I would like to post a picture but I don't know how.
