Default NO lights left on Alert???!!

I sold my 97 4 Runner and bought this 03 Sequoia. When I would leave my lights on in the 4Runner and take out the key a loud buzzer would go off and remind you to turn off your lights. Why doesnt the Sequoia do that?

Is it because the lights will shut off automatically? I have stood around, but they havent shut off. Maybe I need to wait longer.

Sorry if this is a dumb question.

Also, some said that the headlights go on automatically when it gets dark in an SR5 if you turn the light know all the way forward. Mine doesnt go any more forward. However my Daytime running lights come one and when I turn the lights on they get brighter. But I manually have to do it.

Can someone please clarify all of this?

Try waiting a little longer for the lights to go off.
Say your driving along with the headlights on, you arrive at your destination, you shut off engine get out of vehicle and close the doors and lock them. The headlights should shut off with 15-60 seconds. This is programable at the dealer. The default mode is 30 seconds (I think).
There is no beeper due to the automatic feature.
DO NOT REACH IN AND TURN ON THE HEADLIGHTS. THE WILL NOT SHUT OFF AUTOMATICALLY THAT WAY.
The daytime running lights will automatically come on. The sensor is in the top of your dash, it tells the computer when to turn on the headlights. Dont cover this sensor or they will not function properly. The headlight switch does not have to be on, if it is the daytime running lights are overriden and the headlights will be on all the time.
Hope this helps
Victor

Sorry for these dumb questions, when I leave the lights in the off position, they come on when its dark. However when they come one and I turn the lights to the on position they get brighter.

I would think if the head lights came on automatically, they would come on in the "brightest" setting to begin with. This is what is confusing me.
