Default I am running into Wood Dash Kit problems..need help

Based on the recomendations on the posts I bought a wood trim kit from www.woodtrim.com. I wanted a MOLDED kit. There are only molded kits for 2002 and previous listed on the site. I asked why. They said real wood cracks on the 2003 kits. He made a call and said that the manufacturer said that they can bend the carbon fiber as its fabric.

I ordered it and 2 weeks later a FLAT kit arrives. Arrgghhh. I am e-mailing back and forth with him telling him the words "FLAT KIT" never came up in our discussion. Hopefully he will be a good manufacturer and make this right.

Anyway, I have a couple of questions. Is there any difference between a 2002 interior and a 2003? They look almost identical to me.

Lastly, is there anyone that makes a MOLDED kit for a 2003 Sequoia that uses REAL Carbon Fiber (larger weave...not the real small tight weave)

Thanks

There is a difference between the 02 and 03 dashes. The 03 has a larger opening for the stereo and smaller vents next to it. Although it doesn't look to be a big difference, it is. I replaced my 01 surround with the 03 in order to get the Nav system mounted.

I guess my issue is why can't they make a '03-'04 molded kit? If the only difference is a stereo opening, they should have the ability to make it. They keep saying that the '03 has curves that they can not accomadate, but I can not understand how they can accomadate the curves of the '02, but not the '03? They are both pretty "curvy"! They are able to put carbon fiber and real wood on the '02 kits.

Do you all think it is just a matter of time before they make the '03 kits with the same material options as the '02's?

yes, I bought a OEM dash kit for my 2002. Everything fit perfectly except the large oval piece that covers the radio and heater controls, etc. Turns out that they sold me a kit for 2003 (+2004?) and the holes in that one piece are slightly different between the 2001/2002 kit and 2003 kit

The changes are not significant...maybe 1/8" differences here and there. I can't see a reason why they wouldn't be able to make the molded kit you need.

I got a burlwood molded kit from my dealer for $250 for my '04 Sequoia. It looks great! It isn't real wood, but it is beautiful!
