Default where and which bug deflector and vent shade to buy?

Just like the title states. where did you all buy your bug deflector and vent shade? Which brand fits better? I am thinking on going with performaceproducts (wish i had a 15% discount coupon) and i was looking at the EGR Slimline Weatherguards and Lund Interceptor Hood Shield. Can anyone give me any feed back so i make the right choice?

Thanks,
Sid

Search the forum and you will find many posts and various opinions. After having 2 of the Toyota hood deflectors crack I purchased a FormFit deflector from Carson Toyota (sponsor of this forum) based on others recommendations on this forum. It cost about $80 incl frt and I have been very happy with it.

Ditto Ken on the door weatherflectors. Had em for 2 years, still love em.
Can't comment on the bug deflector as I have not tried one (aftermarket grill)

I do occasionally hear some wind noise but it seems to be coming from the roof rack not the weathertechs. With the windows closed, I haven't noticed any additional wind noise from the weathertechs. On the other hand, with the windows cracked open a bit to vent, the weathertechs don't reduce wind noise either.

Angry

I bought a LUND after calling and talking to Performaceparts.com THEY LIED! They told me no drilling necessary and I had to drill two holes on the end. The fitment was ok. I centered it like they said to but the passenger side is a little closer to the hood then the driver side. I also ordered the vents from them and was backordered and wasn't notified this until the after the order. NEVER AGAIN will i buy from them. I rather spend my money at summit racing!

Default Lund

I went with the Lund. I had one on my Tacoma and now on my Tundra. The reason I got the Lund is that you can wash and wax underneath it. Fairly easy install of about 30 minutes. Look at my gallery to see it on the truck.

Drilling the holes in the hood is what made me buy the factory Toyota deflector. You need to drill holes for it also, one on each side. After having previous deflectors which used clips that didn't work well, I figured the drilling was a secure way to hold the edges of the deflector. I've had mine on about 2.5 years with no problem. I can see the hesitation about drilling, but it gives you a very good, strong point to hold the deflector. I guess I'm one of a few who actually view this as a good thing. /Mike
