I test drove an '05 with the Luxury package today, and the gauges were different than any other Sequoias on the lot. Specifically, the glass (acrylic) covering the instrument panel and gauges was a tinted/smoke color, so that when the ignition was off you couldn't see the gauges. With the ignition on, the gauges lit up brighter than the other '05sequoia's I've driven. It also didn't have the chrome trim rings inside the panel, like the others do. Is this a Luxury package only item, or am I imagining things??
Also, does anyone know why they limit the colors on the Luxury package? I really want the Silver Sky or white color, but it's neither is available!
Yes, the upgraded instrument cluster lighting is part of the new luxury package. The package also includes rear adjustable ride height, motor retractable outside mirrors, 2 memory settings for the seat position and outside mirrors, heated front seat, captain 2nd row seat with center console, and wood looking trim.
My 05 Sequoia has the luxury option. At first I didn't like it because it sacrifies one seat. Now I am getting used to these new features and I like them!!
Why doesn't Toyota advertise all of the features??? They neglect to mention the retractable mirrors or the instrument panel update in their literature or online.
My local dealer can't answer any questions, as anyone who's read the brochure knows more than them already. If it weren't for this forum, I'd really be in the dark! Thanks for your response...

ME TOO! No lux. package in silver! Apparently Toyota seems to think that it didn't go well with the wood trim inside. At least that is what an insider told me.
I drove a 04 LTD, 05 LTD with Lx package and 05 LTD without. We swear the ride is better with the LX package also. The guages in the LX are Lexus like with the blackout-but no Chrome Trim rings-just as reported. Both are upgrades from the 04 LTD.
The 04 had the 20"s and was the roughest of the bunch. The 05's do have some get up and go-with 42 more horses and 15 more lbs of torque.
Does anybody know how they did it? I wondered if you could tweak an 04 to have 05 horses and get a little better mpg also. The 05's have a 5 speed auto vs the 04's 4 speed auto. Things just keep getting better. And the 05's trimmed some weight.

I think the addtion of VVTi upped the hp and torque.
For those of you who have seen the both the Tundra and the Seqioia do you think the new fancy looking white gauges from the 05 Sequoia (regular and Lux Package) would fit in the Tundra? If you could post in the thread linked above that would be great. Thanks.

could someone post a picture of their luxury package gauges..i'd like to see them..
I just uploaded a pic of my '05 Lux gauges. It's a pic of them illuminated. I love them, they are very bright and crisp. If you want to see a pic in good daylight, PM me and I'll take one this weekend.

My wife and I both bought our Sequoia and Tundra DC the same night. We test drove them in the evening when it was dark. I told her those guages were enough to sell me on the luxury package. I am envious of the white light guages in her Sequoia.
