Default Window Motor Bad

Our 2001 Sequoia's driver side window motor needs to be replaced, according to the dealer. It started to squeak, so we took it to the dealer for diagnosis. He said the motor seemed okay and put some grease on it. Now the window is even slower than before, and it almost doesn't roll up all the way. We called the dealer again and now he said that the motor needs replacing and it will cost $600 plus dollars to replace the window motor. We also called a local repair shop and he said $500 for the motor or $200 for the motor regulator which ever is broke. My question is, what other options do I have to fix the window? Can I order the part on line and fix it myself, and is it hard to do? Also, is there a TSB on squeaky windows? I searched this forum and found nothing. I also did a small search on the internet and didn't find anyone that sells genuine Toyota parts on line. Is there a good online parts service? If it were a back window I would just leave it, but it is the driver's side window and the repair man said Toyota makes specific motors for each window, so you can't swap a rarely used back window motor to a driver side window motor. Should I be checking out a junk yard for a used window motor??

There have been no TSB's for "squeaky windows". You can see a list of TSB's for your vehicle here:

You can get parts from several of our Supporting Dealers and Vendors such as

Carson Toyota
